Julius P. "Junior" Gilbert

Julius P. “Junior” Gilbert, 73, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Trussville, AL. He was a native of Biloxi and a resident of Trussville, AL for 7 years. Mr. Gilbert was a United States Navy Veteran. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Gilbert was formally employed with the Army Air Force Exchange. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius P. and Alma (Lamey) Gilbert, Sr.; brother, Larry Gilbert; and sister, Lurline Jenkins. Mr. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Linda Gilbert; daughters, Tyra (Devan) Ward and Wendi (J.T.) Mott; step-daughter, Charline Orozco; step-son, Anthony Orozco; sisters, Joyce (Bill) Whitfield and Carolyn (Bob) Messer; five grandchildren, Heather, Erin, Travis, Ryan, and McKenzie; and one great-grandchild, Colton. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014. A funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will be at Biloxi National Cemetery.
