Kenneth William Bagwell, 76, went to be with his heavenly Father March 9th, 2026 after a three-year battle with multiple myeloma. Ken was surrounded by family and friends throughout his cancer journey.
He was born in Mobile, Al. to William C. and Rebecca Bagwell and attended Murphy High School. He graduated with his bachelor’s in business administration from Faulkner University and retired as a Master Shipbuilder from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 42 years of service as part of the Human Resource Department, Office Services.
Ken was an avid golfer and a member of Shell Landing. He was President of the Ingalls Twilight League, where many lasting friendships were formed. He could remember every hole on every course that he had played along with whom he played with. He was fortunate to have attended the ultimate golf game – the Masters, on several occasions, along with the opportunity of playing the Lahinch Golf Club in Ireland.
The Alabama Crimson Tide (BAMA) was his absolute favorite college football team. He may not have attended the college, but his blood ran crimson and white. He looked forward to attending games with friends and grandson, Matthew Johnson.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Becky Bagwell and his sister, Lynn Nickerson.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lynn Bagwell and their daughters, Jennifer (Steve) Flair, Carol (Greg) Sandy, and Dr. Misti (Drew) Malone. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren kept him young at heart – grands are Ashley (Matt) Meadows, Brooke (Justin) Ridings, Matthew Johnson, Meagan Flair, and Asher Malone. Great-grands are Riley Aldrich, Jon Ridings, Max, Nathan and Bryce Meadows; along with nephews, and cousins.
A special thank you to everyone at Hospice of Light, especially Katie and Michael; Dr. Cory Carter, Tamara, Cherie, and his MDA Team, Dr. EJ Shpall, Tobi Fisher, Dr. Yellapragada, and Dr. Dabaja for the kindness and compassion shown during his illness.
