Mr. Kenneth Lewis “Sugarboy” Gilbert, 79, of Biloxi, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013.
Mr. Gilbert was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi where he served as a Biloxi Fireman. He is retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding, and was a avid fisherman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Melinda Gilbert; two sisters, Betty Hegen & Mary Ellen Suarez; and brother, George Gilbert, Jr.
Mr. Gilbert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Ann Gilbert; two daughters, Karen Gilbert and Sandra Gilbert Adkins; sister, Gail (Joe) Todaro, and two grandchildren, Lydia Nicole (Jason) Phillips and William “Kenny” Adkins.
The family wishes to extend special gratitude to Dr. Ben Chaney, Gloria Kostmayer, and the staff of SAADS Hospice for their support and loving care of Mr. Gilbert.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
