Kenneth Neill Walters

Kenneth Neill Walters, age 66, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away at home on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Born August 29, 1959, he lived a life of faith, music, service, and devotion to family.

Known to family and friends as Ken, he retired from Tyler Independent School District as a Training Supervisor. His greatest calling, however, was ministry, and he faithfully served as a music pastor in many churches, most recently at Breaking the Barrier Church of God.

Ken will be remembered for his love of worship music, servant’s heart, and faithful dedication to the church, touching many lives through both his ministry and example.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheri Lee Walters; his sister, Cynthia Landess; and his father, Carl E. Walters Jr.

Ken is survived by his mother, Dorothy Walters; his sons, Joshua Walters (Bryn) and Jonathan Walters; his granddaughters, Arianna and Aniston; his sisters, Susan Dailey (Jay) and Nancy Ladner (Kelly); brother-in-law, Gary Landess; and sister-in-law, Julie Walters, along with extended family, church family, and many friends.

His family finds comfort in Jesus’ promise: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live” (John 11:25, ESV).

Kenneth’s song on this earth has ended, but the worship he loved so deeply continues in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Breaking the Barrier Church of God, 2414 29th Street, Gulfport, MS, followed by light refreshments.
