L.B. “Buck” Yarbrough, 91, died peacefully on May 5, 2016. He was a career Naval Officer proudly serving our great nation in the US Navy from 1941- 1972, and was a veteran of WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He went on to continue his love for the Navy with Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS where he retired. He also actively supported the Boy Scouts of America as he was a devoted eagle scout himself.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Sidbury Yarbrough; a brother, George L Yarbrough; a sister, Ida Florence Yarbrough; and a son, Gary “Pinky” Yarbrough.
Buck is survived by 2 loving sons, their families, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lee Yarbrough and Anita Yarbrough of D’Iberville, MS and children, Olivia Eden, Jane Yarbrough, and Samantha Yarbrough, now living in Colorado. Hal Yarbrough and Amy Yarbrough of Prairieville, LA and children, Devienne Yarbrough Dunavant and Chris Dunavant, their 2 children Skylar and Rory. Danielle Yarbrough Whitworth and Matt Whitworth now living in Central, LA, and Kayla Yarbrough, living in San Marcos, TX. Buck is also survived by a brother, Larry Don Yarbrough, San Angelo, TX; and step daughter, Dale Cooper, Reno, NV.
Services will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
