Mr. Leo E. Lamelin, age 82, of Gulfport went home to the Lord on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at home with his family.
Leo was born in Killingly, CT and was a lifelong resident of Gulfport. He served in the military and was a Korean and Vietnam veteran. He also worked in the Civil Service and retired and traveled around the United States. Leo was a member of the American Legion and the Masons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Noel Lamelin; and his brother, Donald Lamelin.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Bettie Sparkman Lamelin; a son, Michael Lamelin of Huntsville, AL; daughters, Robyn Lamelin Cornelius of Clinton, Iris Lamelin Ruiz (Peyton) of Gulfport, and Rebecca Lamelin of Biloxi. He has eight grandchildren, Danielle, Maegan, Machelle, Joey, Christopher, Jasmine, Wanya, and Christian; one great grandson; and brother in his heart, Ray Fraleigh of Gulfport.

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
