Leslie Oliver Sturtevant, Jr.

Leslie Oliver Sturtevant, Jr., age 77 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022.

He was born on November 4, 1944 in Westwego, LA. He was a retired school teacher in the Biloxi school system for over twenty years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gun collector, and he was a volunteer at the WWII Museum in Ocean Springs.

Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie O., Sr. and Mildred Marie Sturtevant; his brothers, Sidney and Jules Sturtevant; his former spouse, Judy White; his beloved dog, Bull; his aunt, Esther Sturtevant; his niece, Mildred Marie Sturtevant; and his nephew, Harold Rushing.

He is survived by his nieces, Elizabeth Jo Rushing and Penny (Greg) Payne; sister-in-law, Elizabeth “Liz” Baker; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the WWII Museum in Ocean Springs.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs. Friends may visit one hour prior. A private burial will be held at a later date.
