Lillian “Lil” Vaughan, age 60, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025.
Lil was a longtime resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, living in Ocean Springs for most of her life. She was a graduate of Ocean Springs High School, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and the University of Southern Mississippi. A friend to all who were lucky enough to meet her, Lil would always find a way to strike up a conversation and make new friends. To know Lil was to love Lil, and she would always find a way to have whomever she was around rolling in laughter. Lil was an elementary school teacher before transitioning to a career in real estate. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
Lil is preceded in death by her parents, James and Georgia “Dixie” Ramer; her brother, Jimmy Ramer, and her most beloved dog, Belle.
Survivors include her loving husband, Chris Vaughan; her sons, Christopher “Jacob” (Amanda) Vaughan and Canaan; her grandchildren, Grayson and Olive; her sister, Iris “Debbie” McCrae; and her two dogs, Beaux and King.
Special thanks are extended toward Dr. Victoria Clark and Dr. Steven Rosenfeld of Mayo Clinic as well as the rest of her team of physicians, nurses, and nurses’ assistants. Her family asks for any donations to be made payable to the Mayo Clinic and/or the American Brain Tumor Association.
