Linda Margaret Hartstein Buck, 77, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on October 8, 2026. Born on May 8, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, Linda was the cherished daughter of Sam and Virginia Hartstein.
Her remarkable journey through life was marked by her devotion to family, faith, and humanitarianism. Linda grew up in Monneson, PA, where she graduated from Monneson High School in 1967. Her passion for learning led her to further her education, culminating in a Master’s Degree that equipped her for a fruitful career in Elementary Education. Linda dedicated 20 years of her professional life to nurturing young minds at Biloxi Public Schools, with much of her tenure spent at Beauvoir Elementary. Her love for teaching and guiding children was evident in her later years at Covenant Christian School in Gulfport, where she continued to inspire her students.
Linda shared her musical talents with the community as a pianist and organist for over 40 years. Her beautiful music resonated through church halls and fellowship venues, gracing weddings, funerals, and various celebrations. Her commitment to her faith and her musical gifts left a lasting impression on all who heard her play.
Linda's creative spirit extended beyond music into the world of needlework. Her hands were never idle, as she lovingly engaged in sewing, cross stitching, needlepoint, quilting, and knitting. For the past decade, Linda knitted 50+ scarves each year, donating them to local charitable organizations to be distributed to those in need, embodying her generous and compassionate nature.
Linda was fiercely protective of her family, a testament to the deep love she carried for them. Her family traditions, especially during the holiday season, were sacred. She adored filling her home with the sound of Christmas carols and insisted that the final touch on the Christmas tree every year were her bubble lights. In fact, the original bubble lights from the early years of her marriage went up on the tree first! Linda leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Edwin (Ed) Buck; her daughter, Amy Tringali, and son-in-law, Thomas; and her treasured grandchildren, Jonathon Duggan, Katelyn Tringali and Michael Tringali. As well as her beloved furbabies Daisy Dawg, and constant couch companions, cats Nutt Nutt, Captain Jack and BoJangles. She is predeceased by her parents and her beloved son, Charles Buck.
In honoring Linda’s wishes, memorial arrangements will be private. Linda’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness, warmth, and boundless love. Her memory will be forever cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Linda Margaret Hartstein Buck.
