Linwood Earl Anderson fell asleep in death on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Linwood, known affectionately by many as “Andy” or “Pee Wee”, was born on October 27, 1952 in Ayden, North Carolina to Bettie Elizabeth Anderson and James Earl Vance, Sr.
After spending many years in North Carolina he moved to Pensacola, Florida where he graduated high school and joined the military in 1970. After traveling to various places in the US and around the world, he eventually settled in Biloxi, Mississippi where he finished his military career. This is where he took more of an interest in the Bible and was later baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1978. At the time of his passing, he was working as a peer counselor at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi where he had worked for many years.
Throughout his life Linwood made an impact on others as someone who was kind, generous, loving and self-sacrificing. He helped others to see that with God’s help we can make changes and improve our lives and the lives of others. His later years brought him joy as he spent more time with his children, grandchildren and strengthened bonds with his father, siblings and the rest of his loving family. He also established cherished friendships with many including his dear friend and spiritual mentor Ronald Shell who affectionately referred to him as “Linny”.
Linwood was preceded in death by his mother Bettie Anderson, his brothers James Jarmon and Timothy Vance and his son Jason “Skittlez” Anderson.
