SFC Loyd Earl Johnson – Ret. US Army, age 67, of D’Iberville passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
Loyd retired from the US Army after 20 years of service and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War where he served three tours earning several medals, including the Bronze Star Medal (2), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm (Unit), Overseas Service Bars (5) and the Good Conduct Medal 3D Award. He was a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles, The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the D’Iberville Moose Family Center, Lodge #332.
Loyd is preceded in death by his daughter, Crystel Smith; and his parents, Boyd and Eliza Johnson of West Virginia.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Norma Johnson; son, Randolph Guy Kaipo Goodness (Bernadette); daughters, Dunice Johnson Welch (Greg), Teresa Johnson Jackson, Treini Johnson Joris; and eight grandchildren.
