Lucille Gillich Barq, age 89, of Biloxi, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014.
Lucille was the daughter of Croatian immigrant parents, Mike and Rose Gillich. She was born in Biloxi where she remained a lifelong resident. Lucille met and married the love of her life, Ed Barq, III. She was a homemaker, an excellent cook and her focal point was her husband, children and extended family. She had a great generosity when it came to supporting nuns and priest causes and other charities. Lucille loved sports and had a great sense of humor that she passed to her children. She loved her Saints, especially Drew Brees. Lucille had a great laugh and she lived to laugh.
Lucille is preceded in death by parents, Mike and Rose Gillich; brothers, Joseph Gillich, Rudolph Gillich, Andrew Gillich and Mike Gillich; and sisters, Anna Mae Gillich and Mary Gillich.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianne “Bunny” Barq; sons, Edward “Sonny” Barq (Cindy) and Robert “Bones” Barq; sister, Frances Duke; grandchildren, Bradley Barq, Shelley Barq, Olivia "Ollie " Barq Warden and Natalie Barq; great grandchildren, Alli Barq, Sebastian Barq and Finley Warden; and sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Barq, Dot Barq Quave, Beryl Barq Lewis and Lou Viator Barq; brother-in-law, John Lewis, Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
