Lurline Veronica Lane

Lurline Veronica (Foretich) Lane, 84, died July 29, 2007. She was a lifelong native of Biloxi and D'Iberville. Lurline was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in D'Iberville. A loving and good-hearted mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed but now safe in the hands of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Lurline was a 1941 Biloxi High graduate. She was the oldest daughter of Leo and Lottie Foretich of Biloxi. Lurline has two sisters, Beverly Le-Buef in Marietta, Ga., and Melba Fay Gutierrez in Dallas, TX. Lurline was a member of Red Hats, Jazz Society, Garden Club and Daughters of the Confederacy, Biloxi Beauvoir Chapter 623. She is survived by four children, Donna Cox of Gulfport; Sandra Levins of Hattiesburg; Gary Lane of D'Iberville and Howard L. Lane of Saucier. Survivors also include three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren in Austin, Burleson, Pendleton and Nacogdoches, TX. Eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild in Petal, Mobile and local areas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Howard D. Lane. Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, August 3, 2007, 5:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends and relatives may gather 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Biloxi National Cemetery, Monday, August 6, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. with her deceased husband.
