Lynn B. Moon-Hafner, age 87, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 5, 1939, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the daughter of Maude Etheridge. Lynn attended school in Hattiesburg. She worked alongside her husband, helping operate Moon’s Acoustics and Drywall, Inc. for over 30 years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Lynn enjoyed gardening, traveling, crafts, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Maude Etheridge; her first husband of 52 years, William H. Moon; her second husband of 10 years, Hubert Hafner; daughter-in-law, Claudia Moon; brother, Ernest Beach; sisters, Cricket Smith and Dolly Massengale; brothers-in-law, Walter Anderson and Ralph Mattos; and by her sister-in-law, Barbara A. Moon
She is survived by her children, William “Billy” H. Moon, Sr. and Lucinda “Cindy” Cowan (Jim); and brother-in-law, Lloyd T. Moon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dennis “Kevin” Hilton, Michael “Shawn” Hilton, James “Jeffrey” Cowan, William “T-Bo” Cowan, Christina Wilcox, Dana Cowan-Gron, B.J. Moon, Austin Moon, Haley Moon, Christy Burch-Cook, and Melissa Burch-Neicase; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Lynn also leaves behind her special friends who were just like family, Rhonda and Sanford Bennett and Charles and Paula Pech.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial Hospital Oncology Foundation at memorialhospitalfoundation.com or to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
The family would like to thank Dr. Allison Wall, NP Brittney Hicks and the medical oncology staff; along with NP Robin Allen and the Coast Cardiology staff for their care and compassion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Friends are invited to visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
