Lynn "Sheryl" Read Brune

Lynn “Sheryl” Read Brune, 74, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Sheryl was born March 21, 1948 in Bay Springs, MS to James Paul Read and Nobie Sims Read. She graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi. After graduating she worked as a mathematics teacher for her career, later retiring from teaching from Ocean Springs High School. In her free time, she enjoyed hiking, canoeing, and exploring, particularly in the Southwest.

Sheryl is preceded in death by her parents, James Paul Read and Nobie Sims Read; and her brother, Paul Glen Read.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth E. Brune, Jr.; grandchildren, Katherine Brune, Margaret Brune, and Alexander Brune; sisters, Deborah (Richard) Cotton and Laura (Dale) Mellencamp; nieces, Sara Cotton, Emily Cotton, Mary (Michael) VanCamp, and Abby Mellencamp; and nephew, Ryan (Danielle) Cotton.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 3 pm – 4 pm at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home.
