Malissa E. Rector

Malissa E. Rector, 91, of Ocean Springs, MS went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2012. Mrs. Rector was a resident of Ocean Springs since 1951. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs. Mrs. Rector was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a very outgoing person and she never met a stranger. Mrs. Rector is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil L. Rector, Sr.; brothers, Hamilton and William Land; sisters, Annie Eichelberger and Laura Harris. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Rector (Jerry) Johnson; sons, Robert (Lois) Rector, C.L. (Sindi) Rector and David (Judith) Rector; brothers, G.W. (Earline) Land and Earl (Martha) Land; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sebrina) Smith, Jason (Ashley) Rector, Molly (Trey) O’Bryant, Randy (Stacie) Rector, Emily Rector and fiancée, Chad Green; great-grandchildren, Hannah Rector, Staten Rector, Mason Rector and Jacob Rector. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to one’s favorite charity.
