Marcia Elaine West

Marcia Elaine West was born in Middletown, Ohio to Ollie Ray and Garnetta Roberson Garrett on June 12, 1945. She was raised in Ohio as an only child. Her father worked for G.E. building jet airplanes. After graduating as a Registered Nurse, she moved to MS and met her husband while caring for his grandmother. She and Michael West were married on April 8, 1967, while living in Picayune, then moved to Gautier. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Gautier and served as a librarian there, before moving to Ocean Springs and joining First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs. She was an active member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood (Philanthropic Educational Organization), and a strong supporter of the Home of Grace. Her favorite job was being a mom to her three children and Nana to her four grandchildren.

Remembered for her kind nature and generous spirit, she is now with Mike and their son Chris in the arms of Christ.

The remaining family includes daughter Ember Guthrie (Chris) and her daughter Cara Pitts; John West (Jennifer) and sons Caleb, Nate and Josiah West.

Visitation will be Friday, December 12 at First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs from 10-11:00 am, funeral service will begin at 11 am. Reception to follow in the fellowship hall. She will be laid to rest at the Pinecrest Cemetery behind First Baptist Church of Gautier.
