You were taken on angel's wings
As you sweetly and quietly slept
And returned to heaven before we knew
That you had even left
Our hearts are heavy and sorrowed
That our time with you was so brief
For you were our gift of heaven's light
that is now replaced with grief
But not so much that we won't be grateful
For every second you were here
You filled our hearts with so much joy
Treasured memories we'll hold forever dear
And though we weren't blessed to see you grow up into the man you had dreamed to be...
We were blessed to see you smile
And hold you lovingly in our arm...
We love you so much Marcus and We miss you so much...
“Perhaps they are not stars but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones shines down to let us know they are happy.”
On March 25, 2016, at the age of twelve, Marcus Anthony Sylvester was granted the wings of an angel so that he may fly into the Lords safe and loving embrace as he passed peacefully in his sleep.
Marcus was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on March 19, 2004 where he blessed his family with such joy and happiness and still to this day can bring a smile to anyone who knew him. With such a loving smile, tight hugs, and a big heart he brought so much life and love to those he met. He was raised in Biloxi and D’Iberville where he attended D’Iberville Elementary and then North Bay Elementary, was a member of the Rodenburg Ave. Church of Christ, and attended services with his parents at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Either a family and friends gathering or everyone sitting together for meals he always felt happiest surrounded by those he loved and seeing them happy. His last day with us was spent in the way he enjoyed the most; filled with so much joy and happiness surrounded by a loving family and laughter.
Marcus was such a smart and happy child and his happy personality and positive outlook of everything around him will forever be felt in our hearts. We will always remember your tight hugs, warm kisses, and sweet laughter.
Marcus is survived by his loving parents, Mark and Christine Sylvester; sister, Ashley Marie Sylvester and her wife Danielle Garcia; brother, Michael McQuillan and his wife Deanna McQuillan; grandparents, Linda Woods, Maria Corazon Dumalag, and Juanito Dumalag; nephews, Kayden Sylvester and Aedan McQuillan; Uncle Carl and Aunt Myrna Weber and children; great grandmother, Eddie Findlay; also to include family members in the Philippines and Spain; biological mother, Wendy Lawhorn; maternal grandmother, Andrea Campbell; and paternal grandmother, Kathy Snow.
There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville. Family and friends may visit one hour prior. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
