Margaret Jemison Ramsey

Margaret Jemison Ramsey, 54, resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away, Monday, February 27, 2017. She was born in Biloxi, MS, on March 23, 1962, the youngest (6th) child of the late Alfred and Vera Mae Jemison. Margaret attended St. Johns Elementary and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic Girls High School (Biloxi) & Perkinston Junior College. Margaret met and was married to Jeffery Emile Ramsey until his passing in 2007. From their union, they had a son Jeffery Emile Ramsey Jr. on January 29, 1986. They lived in Miami, FL from 1992-2014. She retired from The Federal Bureau of Prisons, with the position held of an Education Technician. Margaret was preceded by her husband, Jeffery Emile Ramsey; her parents, Alfred Q. and Vera Mae Jemison; and her sister, Priscilla Ann Clark. Margaret is survived by her son, Jeffery Emile Ramsey Jr. now of Biloxi, MS; grandson, Nikko Emile Ramsey of Miami FL; three brothers, Alfred Curtis Jemison and wife Debra, William Andre` Jemison and wife Sylvia both of Birmingham, AL and Joseph Dourve` (Squib) Jemison of Houston, TX; her sister, Jacqueline Denise (Jackie) Jackson of Biloxi, MS; and a host of relatives and friends. Margaret loved fashion, fishing, dancing, cooking, shopping, socializing, traveling, playing pitty-pat, and most importantly being with family & friends. A memorial service will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. The church doors will open at 12:00 p.m. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
