Marie “Reedie” Harlow McCaughan, age 95 and a resident of Long Beach, died on Sunday, December 11, 2022, in Gulfport.
Reedie grew up in Clarksdale, MS. She attended Ole Miss and was a member of Tri-Delt sorority. She was an Episcopalian and attended St. Peter’s By-The-Sea Episcopal church where she was a member of the altar guild.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William C. McCaughan Jr.; parents, Charles Dunn Harlow and Lucia Adams Harlow; and daughter Lucia McCaughan McDaniel.
She is survived by her sons, William C. McCaughan III and Charles Harlow (Melanie) McCaughan; granddaughter, Lucia Marie (Damon) Matheny; great-grandchildren, Dawson Lee Matheny and Lucia Clair Matheny; sister Evelyn Rivers Grass and brother Charles Dunn Harlow.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 12:00pm at St. Peter’s By-The-Sea Episcopal Church in Gulfport, where friends may visit 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the McCaughan family.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter’s By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, 1909 15th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501.
