Marilyn Jean Burnson

Marilyn Jean Burnson, 77, of Ocean Springs, MS died Saturday, December 10, 2011 in Ocean Springs. Marilyn was a native of Buffalo Center, Iowa, having lived in New Orleans, LA and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She loved cooking, gardening and caring for her pets. Marilyn was extremely proud of her beautiful grandchildren and her Norwegian heritage. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Leo Miller, D.V.M.; mother, Thea Miller; son James R. Stewart; and sister, Liz Haggerty. Survivors include her husband, Phillip Burnson; daughters, Elizabeth (Joe) Maddox and Kristin Tilley; sister, Rosalie Eckdale; brother, Leo Miller; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to your favorite charity. A Graveside Service will be held at Brumfield Cemetery in the Walker's Bridge Community, MS on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 2:00 pm. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
