Marion V. Tigert passed from this life on February 14, 3 days after her 91st birthday. She was full of life and an independent woman who enjoyed travel and her social groups. She was an ardent member of the Church of Christ and cherished her friends and memories of the Ocean Springs congregation as well as those times shared with friends in TOPS and the Red Hat Society. She especially enjoyed playing cards and games with her children and grandchildren. She was a great steward, servant and friend as attested by so many who have expressed how greatly she enriched their lives.
Preceded in death by her husband Harold E. Tigert and son Dewey, she is survived by three loving sons: John (Kay) Tigert, Carlsbad, NM; Harold (Bonnie) Tigert, Jr., Phoenix, AZ; and Gary (Cynthia) Tigert, Germantown, TN. She also leaves behind 22 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Viewing will be held Friday, February 19 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS from 11:00 to 1:00 with interment to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery alongside her loving husband.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to her favorite charity, The Sunny Brook Children’s Home, Jackson, MS.
