Marshall Paul Kates

Marshall Paul Kates, age 64 of Gulfport died Friday, March 27, 2015 in Gulfport. He was a lifelong resident of Gulfport, graduate of St. John High School Class of '68, grocery manager at Food Giant in Biloxi for many years and previously worked at Jitney Jungle. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport. Mr. Kates was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall L. Kates and Mary Evelyn Joffrion Kates. He is survived by two sisters, Elaine Edelman of Gulfport, and Lois Diedrich of Merritt Island, FL; a niece, three nephews, ten great nieces and nephews, four great-great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home 15th Street in Gulfport where friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until service time. Interment to follow at Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport.
