Martin T. Apken

Mr. Martin T. Apken, age 86, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Wednesday, January 27, 2010, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Martin was a resident of the community for seven years. He was involved with local military organizations, was a WWII Navy veteran and retired from Hughes Aircraft in Tucson, Arizona. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rita Apken, three sisters and four brothers. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Maureen Apken, son, Martin Apken II, both of Ocean Springs, MS., daughter, Paula (Steve) Clemmins of VA., four stepchildren, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Apken will be interred in Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
