Mary Alice Jefferson Ladner Elrod

Mary Alice Jefferson Ladner Elrod, of Long Beach, MS, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, in Gulfport, MS.

Mary Alice was born on July 4, 1946 in New Orleans, LA. She was of the Catholic Faith and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach, MS. She was a wonderful Loving Mother & Grandmother who worked in the banking industry for over 20 years and later became a professional driver for 15 years or so before she retired.

Mary Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond J. Jefferson Sr. and Marie Louise Malbrough Jefferson Hill; brother, Raymond Joseph Jefferson, Jr.; two sisters, Patricia Jefferson Ryle and Jane Jefferson Murphy; grandparents, and numerous uncles and aunts.

She is survived by her three sons; Avel "Chuck" L. Ladner Jr. and his five childern and 10 great-grandchildren, Thomas J. Ladner (Melissa Burlock Ladner) and their three boys; Todd Ladner (Kimberly Collins Ladner) and their three boys; husband, Frank W. Elrod; brother, Ronald John Jefferson Sr. “Norma” and family; sister-in-law, June Jefferson and family; sister-in-law, Barbara Culps; sister-in-law, Donna Ladner; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Services will take place at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln Delisle Rd, Pass Christian, MS 39571 on Saturday, June 28, 2025 with Visitation at 12:00 PM and Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Alphonse G.Malley (FENTON SANDHILL) Cemetery, Fire Tower Road, Fenton, MS.
