Mrs. Mary B. Sharp Meyer, age 80, of Ocean Springs, MS. left this life on Monday, July 9, 2012.
Mary was born on June 7, 1932, in Philadelphia, MS., was raised in Meredian, MS. and was a resident of the coast for 44 years. She and her husband, Bill, founded Jiffy Jac Hamburgers in Biloxi in 1968 which became a family tradition here on the Gulf Coast. Mary always wanted to meet Andy Griffith and since they both passed one week apart, now she can. She attended Woodhaven Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Bill Meyer, mother Evie Hodnett Sharp, father G.W. Sharp, and two brothers Wesley and Paul.
Survivors include one daughter, Belinda Marcum, three sons, Bill Meyer Jr., Joe Meyer and David Meyer, three granddaughters, Jasmine, Ivy and Callie, four grandsons, Alex, Colin, Dylan and Logan, and two sisters, Jewell Stephens and Louise Hicks and their children.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 13, 2012, from 5 pm until 8 pm, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Saturday, July 14, 2012, there will be an 11 am chapel service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Mary has moved on to a wonderful eternal life with God and all her loved ones and friends that have gone on before her. She was a sweet and kind spirit and will be missed forever by her family and everyone who knew her.
