Max Richard Bell

Max Richard Bell, 87, of Vancleave, MS went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 30th, 2025. Born in Ellisville, MS in 1938, Max was a devoted husband and loving father. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God.

Max is survived by his wife, Nora Mae Bell, four children, and three stepchildren: Max Bell (Gail), Richard Bell (Annette), Hazel Woods (Benny), Shannon Mitchell (Jamie), Sara Esquivel, Kristina Hand, and John J. Walker Jr. (Jeanel). He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Max was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Lorraine Bell (1997), his eldest daughter, Hilda Marie Colwell (2024), and his parents, Lola Mae Holifield and Alexander Samuel Bell.

Max was a man of great character, kindness, and quick wit. He was a devoted family man and loved to spend his time being outside working in the garden or watching football. Max was also an active member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church in Latimer, MS, where he found solace and fellowship. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held at Bethel Hill Baptist Church in Latimer, MS on Saturday, December 13th, 2025. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of life and fellowship service will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m.
