Melba Bigot Brooks, 84, of Ocean Springs, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Ocean Springs, MS.
She was born June 7, 1933 in Thomas, Louisiana to Hubert and Arbelia Grantham. She was raised on and ran a dairy farm in Louisiana and was an avid basketball player in her youth. She loved pottery, ceramics and seamstress. Melba retired from OSSD as a cafeteria cook.
She was preceded in death by her spouse William A. Brooks, Sr., son, William A. Brooks, Jr., and daughter, Joann Brooks; 4 siblings, Myrtle Williams, Chester Williams, Dewitt Grantham, Thelma Grantham; grandchild, Sarah.
Survivors include; daughter, Brenda Loll; sister, Mildred Grantham; grandchildren, Eric, Tim, Jonathan, Chad, Melissa, Scotty and Kim; great grandchildren, Brittany, Kayla, Samantha, Will, Drayln, Brandon, David, Amber, Nikki, Dakota, Cameron, Austin, Brayden, Hope, Krista, Deanna, Devon, KK, Perry, Christopher, Matthew, Payton and Alyssa; great great-grandchildren, Raylynn and Annsley.
