Melissa Roberts Lee

Melissa Roberts Lee, age 43, of Ocean Springs, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016. She was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs and a member St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. Melissa was born October 3, 1972 in Gulfport, Mississippi. She graduated from Ocean Springs High School in 1990 and attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College at Perkinston for two years. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from The University of Southern Mississippi and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Melissa also received a Master’s Degree in Education from The University of South Alabama. Melissa was a passionate educator. She spent many years in the elementary school classroom before moving on to serve in the administrative roles of lead teacher and assistant principal at Magnolia Park Elementary. She was dedicated to her family and will be remembered as a strong and positive influence on many. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bruce and Margie Edwards, and Jean and Harry Roberts, Sr. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Joseph Lee; her three children, Drew, Anna Brooke, and Owen; parents, Janice and Harry Roberts; sister, Amy Hunt; brother, Adam Roberts; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The University of South Alabama Mitchell Cancer Institute or St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at 6:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to visit from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
