Mercedes Ann Kees Clack

Mercedes Ann Kees Clack passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning June 21, 2022 in Ocean Springs, MS.  She was born September 9, 1935 in Alexandria, Louisiana and was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Marie Jewell Kees and James Lafayette Kees of Pineville, LA; two brothers, James Lynn Kees and Phil Albert Kees; her husband, Hubert Gondran “Bud” Clack, Sr.; and one son, James Howard Clack of Biloxi, MS.

In 1941, Mercedes began school at Pineville Elementary. Later, in June 1948, she entered Bolton High School, Alexandria, LA. then in September 1953 she went to college at Louisiana Polytechnic Institute, Ruston, LA.  where she finished a Secretarial Course in June 1955.

Upon graduating, she worked as a secretary at Alexandria Seed Company. Then, after moving to Baton Rouge, she worked for Winifred Lucas Interior Decorator as a bookkeeper and later went to Lumber Dealers Supply in Baton Rouge as an assistant bookkeeper.  She married Hubert Gondran Clack and had five beautiful children.

Survivors include four children, sons, Hubert Gondran “Buddy” Clack Jr., John Kenneth Clack, Harry Bernard Clack and daughter, Phyllis Lynn Clack; ten grandchildren, Maggie Cathryn Clack, Mason Grey Clack, Aubrey Rae Clack, Megan Renee’ Clack, Brittney Marie Clack, Kenneth Grant Clack, Katie Elizabeth Clack, Kyla Lynn Clack, Brandon James Clack,  Jacob Miles Clack; three step grandchildren, Brian Anthony Landon, Conner Dean Landon, Taylor Lee Landon; four great grandchildren, Lilliana Elizabeth Estrada, Heath James Clack, Mattix Michael Greeson and Axel John Wayne Greeson; many nieces and nephews of brother, Lynn and wife, Shirlyn Kees of Baton Rouge, LA. and brother, Phil and wife, Priscilla Kees of Lafayette. LA.

Funeral will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 600 Lakeview Street, Pineville, LA.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Monroe Highway, Ball, LA. near her parents, Ida Marie and James Lafayette and her brother, James Lynn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mercedes Ann Kees Clack.
