Michael "Mike" Lawrence Brown

Michael "Mike" Lawrence Brown, 74 Years Old of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on March 20, 2026 at his home in Ocean Springs.

He was born on July 13, 1951 in Baton Rouge, LA to the late Lawrence Winfield Brown and Martha Ann Schmidt. He graduated from Pride High School in 1969. It is with sadness and a peace that passes all understanding that we announce the death of Michael Lawrence Brown. He fought a long hard battle with cancer and died with his family by his side in his home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his strength, his faithfulness to work hard, provide for his family and his devotion to his wife, Brenda, of 55 years. Mike was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and spent most of his life in Pride, Louisiana riding tractors, working cows, and hunting. He retired from Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals in Port Allen, Louisiana. He worked as a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Supervisor and moved to Ocean Springs, Mississippi after his retirement and enjoyed the coastal waters, fishing and sunshine.

Mike was also preceded in death by his sisters, Sandra and Joette.

He is survived by his son, Laramie Brown ( Amy) and four grandchildren, Luke (Jennifer), Lance, Abby and Anna Brown; His daughter, Kandi Brown and grandchildren, Colton Strain (Maddie), Ashlyn Guillot and great granddaughters, Dani and Gwen Martinez; his sister, Laurie Gilpin (Jimmy) and brother, Ed Trailer (Cheryl) and several nieces, nephews, friends, family and friends that he called family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Joseph's Hospice House of Gulfport, Mississippi. We express our sincere gratitude for the care he received from St. Joseph's Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
