Michael Brandon "Nub" Burns

Michael “Nub” Burns, age 24, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at his mother’s home in Fair Play, Missouri. He was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on July 24, 1992 and grew up on the Gulf Coast. Michael was a gentle, sensitive and caring young man with an affinity of nature and animals. He was sensitive to those less fortunate than he and had been known to reach out to the homeless with a meal and a kind word. Bright and inquisitive, Michael attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he excelled. At Homes of Grace he came to know God and formed many lasting friendships. Michael was a talented cook and loyal employee at Mugshots and truly enjoyed his work. He spent his last day helping his mother, raking leaves in her yard and enjoying the deer who showed up for a visit. Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nancy Paavola and John Buckmaster and paternal grandfather, John Burns with whom he shared a special bond. He is survived by his mother, Karen Goodall, of Fair Play, Missouri and his loving father, Paul Burns of Biloxi. He is also survived by his sister, Kerry Buckmaster of Long Beach, his much loved nephew, Dominic Buckmaster; and his paternal grandmother and staunchest supporter, Dolores Burns of Biloxi. He also leaves behind his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends, including his best friend Dylan. Rest in peace Michael. We love you. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincent dePaul of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 6, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time.
