Surrounded by his family, Michael Clement passed away peacefully on March 4, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Mike was born in Hattiesburg, MS, on August 11, 1949, to Gene and Eleanor Clement. He grew up on the Perkinston campus, where his dad was choir director, and graduated from Stone High School in 1967 and USM in 1971.
Mike was good-hearted, very humorous, and multi-talented. He performed in many musicals and loved singing with his First Baptist Church choir. He also loved sports, especially basketball, and his time helping Charlie coach at St. Martin High. But most of all, Mike was dedicated to his family and his church.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Gina, and father-in-law, Bud Viator. He is survived by his wife, Sheri Viator Clement; his daughters, Stacey Cantrelle Parkman and Shelley Cantrelle Schruff ; his sons-in-law, Dustin Parkman and Greg Schruff; his beloved grandsons, Kye, Jax and Cole Parkman, Nolan, Nathan, and Liam Schruff; his sisters, Lynn Clement Tarleton (Mike) and Keri Clement Peresich (Tom); nephews, Ryan and Justin Peresich and Grant Tarleton; and niece, Brooke Tarleton Martin; and mother-in-law, Virginia Viator.
The family thanks Kare-in-Home, especially Cammie, for taking such good care of Mike.
