Michael Eric Southworth

Michael Eric Southworth, 59, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026.

Though he was born in Escondido, California, he spent his early years in Montana living with his father before moving to Mississippi. Michael was a long time resident (nearly 40 years) at South Mississippi Regional Center, where the staff treated him like their own family with the exceptional love and care they gave him. He was always happy and rarely without a smile. He found happiness in Twinkies, Coke, and cheeseburgers. Those who knew him will forever remember his sweet spirit and unforgettable smile that could brighten anyone's day.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Flowers; father, Leslie "Butch" Southworth; stepfather, Calvin “Ronnie” Flowers; and brother, Craig Southworth

Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Timothy Southworth; sister, Nicolle (Chris) Jones; and nephews and nieces, Daniel "Clay" (Rachel) Southworth, Lesley Southworth, Carter Jones, Loren Southworth, and Chandler Jones. He is also survived by loving aunts, uncles, many cousins and dear friends that were like family to him.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Southern Memorial Park.
