Mildred Evelyn Flurry, age 78, a lifelong resident of Vancleave, MS., passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011, at her home.
Evelyn was born on February 11, 1932, in Jackson County. She was a homemaker and an active member of Vancleave Community of Christ Church. She loved doing bake sales, traveling and spent most of her life caring for others. She had a loving and generous heart.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Howard E. and Myrtle Jennings, husband James Flurry and brothers, Edmond and Lloyd Jennings.
Survivors include two sons, James "Jim" H. (Susan) Flurry and William J. "Bill" Flurry, five grandchildren, Cyndi (Todd) Aycock, Jackie (Jarad) Robinson, Jody (Justin) Lott, Anna (Wesley) Miles, and Billy (Taryn) Flurry, seven great-grandchildren, Erin Aycock, Austin Aycock, David Robinson, Audrey Robinson, Harlie Lott, Cole Miles and Trey Flurry, all of Vancleave, MS., a special friend, Sharon Tootle, and many other relatives and friends.
On Friday, February 4, 2011, there will be a 6 pm Memorial Service at the Vancleave Community of Christ Church, with evangelist Jimmy Goff and elder JoAnn Lutes officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Vancleave Community of Christ Church Building Fund.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
