Myrtle Inez Miller

Myrtle Inez Miller, 97, of Latimer, MS passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022. Myrtle was born July 14, 1925 in Mobile, AL to John Flornoy and Henritta Johnson. Myrtle was a longtime resident of Biloxi, MS and worked at the Biloxi Hospital in Central Sterile Supply. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, games, music, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents, John Flornoy and Henritta Johnson; spouse, Leslie Miller; son, Leslie R. Miller Jr.; grandson, George Robert Scarborough Jr.; great-granddaughter, Madison Harris; and brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her children, Rebecca F. (Chris) Chaney of Sanford, NC, Mary Catherine Miller of Biloxi, MS, and Myrtle (Oliver) Collier of Latimer, MS; grandchildren, Susan Richards, Oliver “Peewee” Collier, William Collier, Stacy Depoe, and Myrtle “Patty” Ewing; 18 great-grandchildren; and 30 great, great- grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to visit from 10 am – 12 pm. Interment will be at Biloxi City Cemetery.  The family would like to thank SADDS and hospice for the wonderful care given to their mother and also the wonderful, loving compassion given to their family in a time of need.
