Nancy Elizabeth Bladsacker

November 19, 1958 — December 12, 2025

McHenry

Nancy Elizabeth Bladsacker, 67, of McHenry, MS passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

Nancy was a graduate of Leaksville High School, class of 1976, where she played basketball and was a member of the marching band. She began her nursing career early in life obtaining a practical nursing diploma from MS Gulf Coast Community College (1978), Bachelor of Science (Nursing), University of Southern Mississippi (1985), Master of Science Nursing, University of South Alabama (1990), Certified Nurse Midwife, Stoneybrook University (1998) Doctorate of Science in Nursing, Troy University (2014). Nancy’s life’s work as a devoted certified nurse midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner began in 1994 at Gulfport OB/GYN Clinic, Garden Park Hospital and Gulfport Memorial Hospital. Her selfless devotion to her work has touched countless lives, coworkers and friends. It will continue to be felt through the many lives she helped bring into this world.

To her family she was steady, nurturing and deeply devoted – the kind of woman whose love felt safe and whose presence made everything softer. She was comfort, she was advocacy and she was prayer when words ran out and strength when hope felt thin. Her compassion was not something she turned off and on, it was simply who she was. She carried her faith quietly but powerfully, living through service.

In the days since her passing, hundreds of stories have poured in from patients whose hands she held, coworkers who watched her go above and beyond and families who felt seen and cared for in their most vulnerable moments. Each story tells the same truth. She made people feel safe, valued and never alone.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice E. Gray, Sr. and Lena Garrison. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, David A. Bladsacker; her daughters, Ashley Wells (John), Kristi Buras (Joby) and Kimberly Hackl (Stephanie); a sister, Patricia Fuller (Ronnie); brothers, M.E. Gray and George Gray (Simone); and grandchildren, Andrew Carpenter, Peytyn Johnson, Josiah Buras, Samuel Buras, Alexa Buras and Jadyn Buras.

Nancy was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all.
