"Nancy Lee Franklin, age 80 of Ocean Springs, MS transitioned peacefully in her sleep to be with her Lord and Savior on November 5, 2021 in Columbus, GA.
She was born on October 8, 1941 in Trenton, NJ to Melvin and Amelia Taylor. She was a graduate of Midway High School in Freeman, Missouri. She was a caregiver for the elderly, a Sunday school teacher, and a room mother for her three children. She just had a love for people. She enjoyed country music, flowers, birds, fishing, outdoors, and nature. She will be remembered for her yodeling and the power of prayer.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Amelia Greiser Taylor; son, Dennis Leon Meins; sisters, Linda Doll and Lillian Porter; and brother, Melvin Taylor, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Clifford (Teresa) Meins and Norma Jean (Wilbur) Ramos; daughter-in-law, Gela Lawrence Meins; grandchildren, Tiffany Rena Venus, Courtney Venus (Dalton Davis), Chad (Nicole) Venus, Wilbur Ramos, Jr., Britney (Anthony) Sinclair, Branson Meins (Whitney Key), Shane (Amber) Gill, and Devin (Sarah) Gill; sixteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Amelia Masters of NC, Lawrence (Delores) Taylor of MO, Earl W. Smith of FL, Marie Neece of MO, and Mary Flanigan of MO, and her pets, Hollywood and Gigi.
Nancy was blessed to be with her daughter, Norma Jean, the last twelve years of her life.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm with a service at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 all at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 911 Porter Ave., Ocean Springs, MS 39564. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, MS.
