With deep sadness and great appreciation for her life, we announce the passing of Nancy Lynn Shroyer, 71, of Biloxi on May 6, 2025.
Nancy was born In Marysville, Kansas to Verna and Duane Shroyer. Her father served in the United States Air Force and the family lived in several places including Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, Edwards AFB in California, Kadena AFB in Okinawa, Japan, and Clark AFB in the Philippines, before the family moved to Keesler AFB in Biloxi. Nancy graduated from Biloxi High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she studied business. Early in her career she worked at Merchants Bank in Gulfport and owned her own decorating business before she began a lifelong career in real estate. Nancy worked at Sawyer Real Estate and Keller Williams before forming her own business, Nancy Shroyer Properties. Over her esteemed career, she received numerous awards including Top Producer Awards and the prestigious Life Membership Award. Nancy went to Atlanta, Georgia to the Staging University School where she received her Accredited Staging Professional credentials. Nancy published "Selling Secrets You Can't Afford to Miss" in 2020. Nancy loved to travel with friends and visited numerous places including Milan, Florence, Venice, Padua, Sienna, San Gimignano, Assisi and Rome, Italy. She also traveled to the Netherlands, Paris, London, Puerto Rico, St. Martin and throughout the United States. She was a devoted daughter and granddaughter and interrupted her own life to move to Kansas to care for her elderly grandparents until their death. Nancy loved life and frequently had her rescue dog Cricket by her side. She was considerate and generous and loved to shower her friends and family with thoughtful gifts. Her faith was important to her as she started each day with a devotion before watering her many plants and feeding the backyard birds. |
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Duane, step-father, Joe Westerburg and mother, Verna Shroyer Westerburg, and her nephew Kenneth Polk. |
She is survived by her brother, Dr. Duane Shroyer (Terrie) of Birmingham, AL and sister Lisa Hilton of Biloxi. Also by her nephew, Dr. Dean Shroyer (Dr. Whitney) of Germantown, TN and their three girls, Elenora, Elaine, and Emma Kate. Also by her niece, Michelle Mathis (Brad) of Birmingham, AL and their two boys, Jackson and Dean, and her nephew, Drew Shroyer of Brooklyn, New York; niece Allyssa Hilton, and nephews Nikolas Hilton and Ricky Polk of Biloxi. |
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 23 with visitation at 2:30pm and service at 3:00pm in the chapel at Bradford O'Keefe, 15th Street Gulfport, Mississippi. Interment will be at Trinity United Methodist Church Columbarium and Prayer Garden in Homewood, Alabama. |
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, Trinity United Methodist Church, Homewood, AL or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the friends and neighbors who supported Nancy during her lifetime and her family during this difficult time.
