Nicholas Marquardt

Nicholas "Nik" Marquardt, age 48, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Nik was born on December 22, 1977, in Fresno, California, to David Marquardt and Vicky Jenkins. He attended Choctaw County High School in Butler, Alabama. A dedicated martial artist, Nik earned a Black Belt in Kyokushin Karate and Han Mu Do.

For more than 10 years, Nik worked as a bartender at Island View Casino and also worked in the Slots department at Treasure Bay Casino. He was an avid gamer who looked forward to spending Monday nights playing with his friends, the "Boyz."

Nik is survived by his father, David Marquardt; his mother, Vicky Jenkins; his extended family, William Mabry, Rhonda "Melonie" Torres, Oscar and Amanda Vazquez; his nephew, Jaxson Harper Vazquez; and his niece, Eva Marie Vazquez.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Event Center, 208 Pass Road, Gulfport, MS 39507.

Nik will be remembered for his kind heart, his dedication to his friends and family, and the joy he found in martial arts and gaming.
