Oberia (Vera) Jeffers Bounds

Oberia (Vera) Jeffers Bounds, age 95, of Ocean Springs, MS, died peacefully at home on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

Oberia was born in Longleaf, LA on December 3, 1930, to Arthur and Ethel Yielding Jeffers; She married Julius Bounds in Louisiana and lived there for most of her life. She and Julius enjoyed traveling the US in their motor home after he retired. In 2002 she moved to Ocean Springs where she loved being a volunteer with the Hospital Auxiliary, attending the First Baptist Church, and enjoying time with her many friends at the Joy Sunday School class.

She was a kind, loving and beautiful lady, inside and out. Now she is at peace and reunited with the family who went before her.

Oberia was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Milton Bounds, in 1996; son, Julius Maurice Bounds, in 2014; sister, Gloria Jeffers Brown and brother, AJ Jeffers.

Survivors include her brother, Jimmy Jeffers; children, Brenda Jordan, Penny Bounds Whitten, Glen Bounds and Joy Robison; grandchildren, Patrick Jordan, Joy Harrison, Jamie Jordan Jeffreys, Collin Simmons, Chelsea Hall, Nathan Bounds, April Poskitt, Mark Davis and 12 great-grandchildren.

Her remains will be placed next to her husband in Alexandria, LA.
