Ora Reynold “Renny” Harbison, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
A proud Biloxian, he lived almost his entire life in Biloxi. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and MS Gulf Coast Community College, Perkinston, and lifelong parishioner of Nativity BVM Cathedral.
He’s preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Jeanne; and his parents, Ora Harbison Sr and Althea Nicovich Gleason.
He is survived by his 5 children, Renee’ Mckinney, James (Christine), Marc (Meg), Michele (James) and Chris (Michelle); 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; son in law, Paul McKinney; and daughter in law, Anne Seymour
Renny was a great storyteller and loved to share his memories of growing up on Bohn St and at his grandparents’ home on Lameuse St. If he wasn’t sharing one of his stories, he was bragging on his children and even more so, his grandchildren. He loved cars and loved to drive, whether it was his insurance sales route or mission trips to Saltillo Mexico or anywhere in between. He knew the year, make, and model of most classic cars and could tell you which one of his buddies owned which one back in the day.
He was happiest spending time with his family, enjoying a Saints or Braves game (through good seasons and bad) drinking a Barq’s root beer, with oysters, fried or raw, and a sweet treat.
Our family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers from Saads, especially Caitlin, his nurse, Home Instead and Dr. Bethala and her team.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 9th at 11:00am at Nativity BVM Cathedral, with visitation one hour before. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. In honor of Renny, the family invites those in attendance to wear their favorite Saints or Braves attire.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Saltillo Mission c/o the diocese of Biloxi or the Nativity St Vincent de Paul.
Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ora Reynold “Renny” Harbison.
