Oswald H. "Tac" Taconi, 87, of Davie, FL died on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Physicians Regional Medical Center-Vitas Hospice in Naples, FL. Tac was a WWII Veteran, Private with Company B 741st Tank Battalion, who fought in Normandy at D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Taconi; his parents, Paul Joseph Taconi and Margaret Matthiew; his brothers, August Taconi, Ray "Sonny" Taconi and PJ Taconi.
He left surviving him one sister, Margaret Kostellic of Gulfport, MS; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Wentzell of Crystal River, FL and Deborah Butler Clawson of Davie, FL; four grandchildren, Charles Alan Wentzell, Robert Wentzell, Rhonda Butler Fowler and Haley Elizabeth Clawson; six great-grandchildren, Josuha Wentzell, Taylor Wentzell, Owen Wentzell, Erin Fowler, Emma Fowler and Truitt Fowler; and one great-great-granddaughter, Alayna Wentzell.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, West Biloxi.
Graveside services will be on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
