Otto "Brother" Woodson

Otto “Brother” Woodson, age 71, of Biloxi, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Otto was born on October 10, 1954, in Columbia, MS to Melvia and Otto Woodson. He was a graduate of Columbia High School. Upon graduation, Otto joined the US Army where he worked in transport until his medical retirement in 1978. After his time in the service, Otto joined the United States Postal Service where he worked for 27 years before retiring.

He loved to travel and logged more than 2 million miles worth of driving in his life. Otto loved to read, and in his younger days, riding motorcycles was his favorite past-time. He was always on the lookout for new and interesting places to eat. He was a risk taker and regularly enjoyed trips to the casino where he would regularly hit big. Otto was always doing for others and would give his very last to those in need. Above all, he cherished time with his family and friends.

Otto was preceded in death by his parents, Melvia and Otto Woodson and siblings, Rita Magee and Cathy Woodson.

Survivors include his children, Maurice and Antonio Woodson; grandchildren, Aniya Woodson and Qwadaijhus Potts; great-grandchildren, Vaughn and Namiko; one older brother; his pet cat, Sahari; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15th Street, Gulfport, MS, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
