Patricia T. Kulick of Ocean Springs, MS died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 90 years old. Born in Kansas City, Missouri May 28, 1923, Pat was the daughter of Dr. Edward H. and Hazel Taylor. She attended High School in Alexandria, Virginia, College at Randolph-Macon in Lynchburg, Virginia where she was a math major, achieved an Aeronautical Engineering Degree from New York University and held a Professional Engineering License. Pat became a leading expert in reliability engineering and her capability was recognized by the United States Navy when she was selected to participate in sea trials to commission ships. Her career spanned the advent of ejector seats for military aircraft, the Apollo Saturn rocket program, the Manned Orbiting Laboratory program, work on Nuclear Submarines, Nuclear Destroyers and other vessels when she reached retirement at Ingalls Shipbuilding. After retirement she split her time between Ocean Springs, Mississippi and Omena, Michigan where she had spent summers since childhood. Pat was also an environmentalist and she started a chapter of the Sierra Club in Mississippi in 1972 when she moved to Ocean Springs from Southern California. A member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, she is preceded in death by her brother Richard Taylor and sister, Jeanne Taylor. Pat is survived by her three sons, Christopher Verdery, David Kulick and William Kulick, and a grandson, Henry Kulick. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, from 2pm until 3pm, with a 3 pm Memorial Service, all at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
