Patricia Ann “Patsy” Cosmich Kuluz, 84, went home to her Heavenly Father, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Patsy was born March 12, 1940, in Biloxi, and raised on Point Cadet. She attended St. Michael Elementary School and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. Patsy was married to the late Peter James Kuluz for fifty-five years and together they had seven children and nine grandchildren. Patsy was known for her faithful devotion to St. Michael Catholic Church where she received all her sacraments, served as a member of the Altar Society and was a Eucharistic Minister. While Patsy worked many jobs over the course of her life, her true calling was caring for the ones she loved. Her greatest joys were found in spending time with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren.
Patsy joined the Slavic Ladies Auxiliary in 1973 and was an integral part of creating the annual pusharata sale to raise funds for the Auxiliary scholarship fund. She was proud of her Croatian heritage and passed down the importance of serving her community and spending time with her cherished friends at the Lodge. Patsy was a faithful friend. She enjoyed traveling all across the country with her family and friends and playing bunco with the same group of ladies for the last 50 years. Patsy loved Elvis Presley, especially his gospel albums. Whenever you hear his music, we hope you think of her.
Patsy lived her life to the fullest. She was known to many as “Nunna” because she loved her friends and loved one’s families as her own. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, Godchildren, and extended family and friends are left with memories of her kindness, love and joy of life.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Peter James Kuluz, Sr.; her parents, Bill and Clara Cosmich; her son, Carl Joseph Kuluz; in-laws Vincent “Visco” and Marguerite Kuluz; sister-in-law, Leanna Besse Cosmich; and many family members and friends who she loved and missed dearly.
Patsy is survived by her sons, Peter Kuluz, Jr., of Biloxi, Kenny (Karen) Kuluz of Pascagoula, Tommy (Lynn) Kuluz of Ocean Springs, Kurt (Laurie) Kuluz of D'Iberville, and Kevin (Bridgette) Kuluz of Biloxi; daughter, Karen Kuluz (Cliff Whittle) of Destin, FL; and daughter-in-law, Belinda Kuluz of Olive Branch, MS. She is survived by her grandchildren, Brooke Kuluz, Kurt Kuluz, Jr. (Katherine Herndon), Tommy Kuluz, Jr. (Jennifer), Madeline Kuluz (Ryan) Tincher, Regan Kuluz and Ally Ann Kuluz, Avery White, Jack White, and Charles Whittle. She is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Delilah Kuluz; and her brother, John (Doris) Cosmich, Jr. Patsy is survived by her aunt Dolores Sonnier and many cherished family members and friends.
The family would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Allison Wall, and Bailey Stokes, P.A., true angels on earth, for the genuine love and support shown to our beloved Patsy. We are also beyond grateful for the staff at Gulfport Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care they provided to Patsy and our family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Michael Altar Society, 177 1st Street, Biloxi, MS 39533.
