Pauline Meyer

d. July 4, 2025

Pauline Ann Meyer, age 77, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025

Mrs. Meyer was a longtime resident of Ocean Springs. She was born in Berlin, New Hampshire in 1947 to Romeo and Jeanett Boulanger. Her childhood was filled with fond memories of blueberry picking and summers spent at Akers Pond with her family. She was an avid swimmer and bicyclist. Several summers as a teenager she participated in waterskiing shows and competed in downhill skiing in the winters. Pauline attended high school in Gorham at Our Lady of the Mountains Academy, before studying Mathematics at the College of New Rochelle in New York. She returned to Berlin for a short while where she taught at the local Catholic elementary school. Education was always important to Pauline, so when they were stationed at Chanute Air Force Base, Pauline went to the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana campus and got her Master’s Degree in Education.

In January 1971 she joined the Air Force as a Space Systems Operations Officer. She proudly served for 7 years. Pauline’s 1st assignment was to Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado. Her thirst for adventure had her volunteering to be the first female officer, who was not a nurse, assigned to Thule Greenland. Pauline met the love of her life, Ken, while stationed at Wright - Patterson AFB, OH. They were both attending a training class and Ken awkwardly approached her and asked her to lunch. After gaining the approval of her husky pup, Charlie, they were married in July 1974 at The Balsams Hotel in Dixville Notch, NH.

Pauline and Ken welcomed their daughter, Michelle, in January 1978. Pauline passed her love of the water onto her daughter and was the ultimate swim mom. She also passed to her daughter a love of baking, puzzles, and the outdoors. Though she loved adventure and was a wonderful mom, Pauline’s favorite role was that of a grandmother. She treasured every minute with her 3 grandsons and loved being their Memere most of all. She spent every moment she could being with them playing games, reading books, or just cuddling.

Pauline was a strong and kindhearted woman. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who brought joy and laughter to all those around her. She will be missed by all that knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Romeo and Jeanett Boulanger; and her brother, Donald Boulanger. She is survived by her loving husband, Ken Meyer, her daughter, 3 grandsons, and 2 siblings.

The Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Elizabeth Seaton of Ocean Springs on Thursday, at 11:30 am on July 24, 2025. Friends may visit an hour prior. Interment will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
