With profound sorrow and deep love, we announce the passing of Peggy Elaine Nitcavic and Douglas Wayne Nitcavic, devoted spouses, loving parents, and faithful servants of the Lord. Separated in passing by just 20 hours, they entered eternal rest nearly side by side, united in their faith and love for the Lord.
Peggy Elaine Nitcavic was born on August 6, 1948, in Biloxi, Mississippi, and passed away on March 26, 2026. Douglas Wayne Nitcavic was born on November 17, 1951, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and passed away on March 27, 2026.
Peggy and Doug shared a life grounded in love, faith, and unwavering deviation to one another. Their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment, compassion, and partnership. Together, they built a home centered on Christian values, where love, kindness, and faith in God guided their lives and the lives of those around them.
Peggy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, love of Christmas, and the warmth she extended to family and friends. She was an elementary school teacher who found joy in giving to others and lived her life as a reflection of her faith.
Doug will be remembered for his strength, love of country, and deep love for his family. He was a general contractor and proud veteran of the U.S. army. He lived with integrity and faith, always striving to lead by example and honor the Lord in all he did.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents William R. Flowers Sr. and Essie Mae Flowers as well as her siblings Earl Flowers, Bill Flowers, Aubrey Flowers, Alton Flowers, Juanita Pollard, Velma Schneider, and Eleanor Tyndall. Doug was preceded in death by his parents Leonard Nitcavic and Ruth Nitcavic and his brother Richard Nitcavic.
They are survived by their sons, Lenny Nitcavic (Christal) and Joey Nitcavic (Francesca) along with their grandchildren; Kendal Basilio (Christian) , Mathew, Gavin, Jacob, Brandon, and Benjamin Nitcavic whose lives will forever be shaped by their example of love and faith.
A celebration of their lives will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 10:00am at New Life Family Church in Biloxi, MS where family and friends will gather to honor their memory and rejoice in the promise of eternal life.
Though they are deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing they are together in the presence of the Lord they loved so dearly.
