Peggy Hamilton, age 85, passed peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2014. She was a native of Cullman, AL and lived in Gulfport most of her life.
Peggy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gulfport, MS. She was an avid duplicate bridge player and the MS Gulf Coast Bridge Association was her second home and her bridge partners were her second family. She also belonged to several private clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Homer Clinton Hamilton, Jr; her son, James Gordon Hamilton; her parents, Dr. Gordon and Louise Daves; a brother, James Gordon Daves Jr.; and sister, Martha Marise Daves.
She is survived by four children, Mark (Na) Hamilton, Lisa Edelen, Sallie Hamilton (Scott) Cohen, Juli (Kevin) Bishop; daughter-in-law Gloria Cockroft Hamilton; six grandchildren, Wade Hamilton, Wendy Hamilton, Coral Edelen, Clint (Nikki) Edelen, Warren Bishop and Camille Bishop; and two great grandchildren, Tanner and Riley Hamilton.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 19, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St. in Gulfport where friends may visit from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
