It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you that our beloved Pettis Dexter "Debo" Brewer, 58, of Saucier, Mississippi has been missing since October 26, 2015 after boarding a chartered aircraft in Gulfport, Mississippi. Dexter was born November 23, 1956 in Laurel, MS the firstborn child of Pettis and Janice Brewer. Dexter attended Jones County Junior College and began his career as a welder at Ingalls Shipbuilding. He worked at Georgia-Pacific in New Augusta, MS for 24 years before becoming a Project Manager at RMR Mechanical. Dexter was also a member of the Freemason fraternity where he achieved the status of Master Mason of Sand Hill Lodge 442, Hattiesburg York Rite and Hamasa Shrine Temple in Meridian, MS. Dexter loved anything outdoors, hunting, fishing, traveling and visiting new places, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, Blue Bell ice cream, Mississippi State football and all other sports including his newfound love of soccer, spending time with his large family and many friends. Dexter was our hero who could fix absolutely anything! His favorite saying was "I know a little bit about a lot of things". He was quick to learn anything new. He was unselfish and giving and took great care of his family. He truly loved life and living. We will always carry his memory in our hearts.
Dexter is survived by his children Jared and Jenna Brewer and Tyler Cook; his soulmate Tina Bond Cook; his father, Pettis Brewer; brothers Douglas (Katren), Dempsey (Karen) and Darrell (Joanna); 9 nieces and nephews; 3 great-nieces/nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and the mother of his children, Renee Brewer.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Janice Brewer and his mother-in-law Betty Bond.
The family would like to gratefully acknowledge all of the agencies (Jackson County Sheriff's Flotilla, US Coast Guard station Pascagoula, Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, Gulfport Police Department) and all the volunteers of Texas EQUUSEARCH, Team Watters, Pac Brian and Rickey Latch, dear friends and family who continue to work tirelessly to bring Dexter back home to us.
